The Hamburg-based project developer QUEST Investment Partners has sold the new building project Neue Burg 1 in Hamburg's Nikolai quarter, which is still under construction, to Aviva Investors Real Assets. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Upon completion in mid-2020, the Unilever consumer goods group will move its German headquarters into the nine-storey building.
The elegant, cube-shaped property with a striking silhouette offers a total rental space of approximately 6,500 sqm, including 5,500 sqm office space. In addition to the representative two-storey foyer, the terraces on the 1st and 7th floor are an architectural highlight. Thanks to generous windows, there is a smooth transition from office to the outside areas. The central location and redesign of the quarter, which stretches from the Chamber of Commerce to Rödingsmarkt and from Alte Wall to Willy-Brandt-Straße, are likewise attractive. The Nikolai quarter has been Europe's biggest inner-city Business Improvement District (BID) over the past five years with a project volume of 9.3 million euros. Within the last five years, numerous construction activities have revalued the location, further measures at the Alte Wall will follow until autumn 2020.
