The GEG German Estate Group has acquired the five-star hotel Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt. The building ensemble includes the landmarked Villa Speyer, which was built at the turn of 19th and 20th century, as well as new buildings, which were built in a similar style in 2006. On a floor area of 7,400 sqm, it offers around 19,250 sqm of lettable area, 720 sqm of office space, and 126 parking spots. The hotel has 163 rooms, including a 326 sqm Presidential Suite.
The Seller of the ensemble is Commerz Real. The hotel was sold from the portfolio of Commerz Real’s hausInvest open-ended real estate fund. Financing of the transaction was provided by Deutsche Pfandbriefbank. The German Football Association plans to build an academy in the neighbourhood of the Villa Kennedy. GEG sees this as a boost for the attractiveness of the hotel location.
